I was born on Long Island to Kenneth and Audrey LoPresti. I have an older brother Brian, and sister Nancy. We lived in St. James Long Island up to the fourth grade where we moved upstate NY in a town called Norwich. Shortly after that, we moved to a dairy farm about 6 miles outside of Norwich. So my early life began as any typical upstate New York kid.

I started playing guitar at the age of 15. My early influences were Ted Nugent, Rush, and Kiss. In between farm work, I'd grab my Silvertone Les Paul copy with a 5 Watt Gipson amp, and began to torture the neighborhood. What jumpstarted and would be the largest influence in my career in music was meeting Norm Money Jr. He too was a Norwich native and very talented guitar player. We became friends and it was hard not to find me out at his place, on the back porch playing for hours. He was an inspiration to be around and after a year or so of weekend jams on his porch, we formed a band and played the bar scene, parties and outdoor festivals. Being 16 yrs old, it was a scary experience for me, but the more I played out, the more I wanted to pursue music.

After graduating high school, I left the farm to pursue a degree in Chemistry at SUNY Cortland college. As for my guitar playing, it was non-stop for 4 years. I played every day for at least 6 to 8 hours, jamming with any band anywhere, learning every style of player out there. My influences included Pat Methany, Larry Carlton, Jeff Beck, Steve Morse, Eddie Van, and Allan Holdsworth. My father is an accomplished jazz piano player, so I think the love for all music is burned into my DNA.

Shortly after graduation, I found myself back in Norwich with the idea of pursuing music on a semi-professional level. I lived with 5 other guys who where we formed a Christian Rock band called The Cutting Edge. I stayed with the band for about 3 years until I met Bonnie Storms, who I married and began a new chapter. We moved from Norwich to Rochester where we lived at my sister's house. I went from playing guitar as my day job to working as a chemical technician at Kodak. I soon changed careers to become a research scientist for a company south of Geneva located on Seneca Lake. Musically, I continued to study and practice, especially Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani and Steve Via.

The late 80's early 90's are a big whirlwind. had many opportunities to perform as an artist and session player for many local and national acts, which toured in the US and Canada. From the café performance with Rick Cua to the main stage with Michael Peace at Darien lake will always ring in my memories of what it's like to be a performing artist. However, it's the memories of over seas travel with Bob Sorge, and leading worship conferences that has left a more lasting impression.

By the mid 90's, it was time to start writing and recording music again. This CD was going to be called "all of my days" and I was going by the band name "racing elijah". My focus for this project was songwriting and singing versus playing the technical side of guitar. It was a great experience from start to finish, writing, recording, engineering, producing, to mixing and mastering this project. I was very fortunate to have had a few other musicians that helped me out with this project (Keith Alexander - drums and percussion; Mark Roswick - bass guitar; Mike Gerardi - bass guitar; and Kury Spencer - bass guitar for the live gigs). I played a few events, but spent most of my time trying to find a home for this CD release somewhere in the music industry.

By the late 90's, I caught the bug again for writing and recording. I found a few of my demo tapes I had done in 1986 on my 4-track recorder, and was inspired to begin work on a new project. The birth of "audio infusion" was actually in August of 1986 with the song "Ground Zero". During the final mixing of this project, I discovered major audio issues with some of the tracks. I was fortunate as at the same time, I met a few guys from Nashville, Nathan Zwald (Engineer, Producer, Songwriter, Musician) and Zach Fisher, a drumming monster. These two lads helped me restore and finally release the project in 2002.

Over the past few years since the release of Audio Infusion, I continue to work as a session player, artist, producer and engineer. No one knows what the future holds for any of us especially if you claim to be a musician. Take every opportunity and appreciate the journey. Just stay true to your art and be honest with yourself and to others. If all else fails, treat it with volume!
